At SP Ranches, we raise our cattle on a grass-fed, rotational grazing system and we interact with our herd every day. Our grass-fed beef is 100% raised and finished on native Texas grass. The herd is moved daily through pastures and woods, allowing them to eat their native diet by grazing and foraging.

Our South Poll cattle and Black Angus cross are hormone- as well as steroid-free and are raised in a stress-free environment. The grass-fed/grass-finished beef of SP Ranches do not drink from the creeks or ponds. Our beef is brought fresh water daily from SP Ranches’ Culligan water filtration system. Because of this lifestyle, our animals grow at a healthy, natural pace and provide our customers with top-quality, grass-fed, grass-finished beef."

We raise Black Angus cross and South Poll cattle; over time, we will be switching the herd completely over to South Poll cattle. South Poll cattle are a young breed that were bred to be raised on the grass-fed lifestyle with qualities such as high heat tolerance, gentle dispositions, and tender beef. They are the result of crossing high-quality Barzona/Hereford with high-quality Senegal/Red Angus."

"HEALTH BENEFITS:

While grass-fed beef is better for your health overall, it is particularly known for its heart health benefits. These benefits include:

  • Less total fat
  • More heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids
  • More conjugated linoleic acid, a type of fat that's thought to reduce heart disease and cancer risks
  • More antioxidant vitamins, such as vitamin E
  • Lean beef that's 5 percent fat or less-whether it's grass-fed beef or another type of bee-can be part of a heart-healthy diet.

All of our grass-fed/grass-finished beef comes from cows that are raised from birth at SP Ranches to ensure that our beef is 100% grass-fed."
